Our People

First and foremost, care is a people business. We look for qualifications and we look for experience, but most of all we look for people who will fit into our ethos. We want people who really want to work in care. We look for people who are friendly, empathetic and compassionate. We look for people with big hearts who want to make a difference. And we find them and keep them. Many of our at-Home carers have been with us for more than a decade.

Donia Arnall

Donia has worked for us for longer than she likes to remember. Starting as a care assistant, Donia has managed the service for almost a decade now and there is little that she does not know about homecare or Barnet.

Gerri Byrne

Gerri also started with us as a care assistant, progressed to care co-ordinator and is now deputy manager of the service. Gerri is hands on and, like Donia, is always available for clients or our inHome carers to contact her.

Gloria Addai

Gloria is one of our care co-ordinators, one of the toughest jobs in homecare! Gloria makes sure that you get the service you desire and when we say we will arrive at 1pm to cook lunch. We do.

Kleo Henderson

Kleo has been a Care Co-ordinator for over 2 years and still works as an active carer. Kleo loves her role as a match maker – getting the right carer with the right client is the key to her success.

Trina

Trina is our longest serving inHome Carers. Trina started in May 1991 and has been a valued member of staff who goes above and beyond for her clients. Trina is professional and caring and we always have good feedback from her clients and her colleagues. Trina recently won an award for her long service, caring nature and determination to support her clients with dignity, respect and promoting independence whatever the disability.

Rhona

Rhona is our second longest serving PCA, who started in October 1995. Rhona has become a regular member of the families she supports. Rhona always gives 100% to her work and is also a good mentor to her colleagues. Rhona always participates in training, and her wealth of knowledge comes from her experience and common sense nature.

Michelle

Michelle is our long-term night carer and has been with us since May 2004. Michelle supports her client and family and has a no nonsense approach to her work. Michelle is a good mentor to our new PCA’s, and allows them to shadow her, sharing her experience and knowledge. Michelle also when she has time helps out with reviewing Care Plans and Risk Assessments.

Lola

Lola has been a member of staff since Sept 2011. Lola has a wealth of experience in Domiciliary Care and Care Homes. Lola works extremely hard and puts in the longest hours. Always happy and cheerful her clients enjoy her company as well as her professional approach to her work.

Laura

Laura started with us in November 2017 and has proved to be a great asset. Laura escorts her client on public transport to work and back and this allows her client to gain experience and confidence. Keeping her independence is extremely important and without Laura’s dedication and patience, knowledge and understanding it would be unlikely that her client would be able to do as much as they do.

Vibha

One of our most popular PCA’s Vibha has been with BCC since May 2008. Vibha is very friendly, kind and caring and her clients all want her back. Vibha likes to make sure her clients are getting the help and support they are entitled to and will always check with the Centre to make sure her clients are not missing out.

Barnet Carers Centre is a well established local charity. The organisation is run by a Board of Trustees and regulated by the Charity Commission.
